About us

Urban Cry School of Mission has developed out of a recognition that Canadian urban ministry training is often located in the theological Academy or hands on without the theological accreditation. We have developed a partnership with educational providers to supply 33 credit hours of University level accredited education combined with two years of urban ministry apprenticeship. Each full time student will work closely with pastors and directors to gain an in-depth experience of ministry training and spiritual development. We are compliant with Pentecostal Assemblies Of Canada requirements for educational requirements toward ministry credentials.

Since 1994, New Song Church has been focused on being a church with the heart of a mission. From our early days in a neighbourhood known for its high crime rate, prostitution and substance abuse, we developed a true-hearted love for our most vulnerable neighbours. Today, the same neighbourhood has one of the lowest crime rates in the city and several new businesses, home owners and community building initiatives. Our work with at-risk populations, food security, community gardens, intentional community living, social enterprise, the local music scene, advocacy, newcomers to Canada, chaplaincy, etc. has shaped an urban ethos and humility of true gospel witness.

Come study and learn with us.
